The directors, staff, and students of the New Jersey Folk Festival are excited to announce preparations for a virtual folk festival this April!
The Rutgers University campuses remain largely closed, but the NJFF will continue to engage with campus and community audiences through new virtual platforms and online media.

The festival continues its cultural theme from 2020, celebrating the culture and arts of Oaxaca!
The festival staff are also creating programming on folk music and social justice inspired by the legacy of celebrated Rutgers alumnus Paul Robeson.

The New Jersey Folk Festival proudly presents its 2021 theme: Arts and Culture of Oaxaca! Oaxacan culture, from southern México, is deeply rooted in New Jersey, and The New Jersey Folk Festival will explore and appreciate its significance! There will be live music and dance performances, an astounding array of food and craft vendors, children’s activities, heritage demonstrations, and much more!

El festival folklórico de New Jersey va a explorar y celebrar el impacto que Oaxaca ha tenido en la comunidad en forma de música, danza y las diferentes comidas. Va a ver actividades familiares, ventó de diferentes artes, demostraciones culturales, y mucho más.
